Before First Use
Soak the handi in clean water for 1 to 2 hours
Let it air dry completely
Apply a light layer of edible oil inside
Fill half with water and heat on low flame for 1 hour using a heat diffuser
Allow it to cool naturally
This one-time seasoning process strengthens the clay and enhances its natural non-stick surface.
Cleaning and Storage
Let the pot cool before washing
Clean with warm water, lemon juice, or baking soda using a soft sponge
Avoid harsh soaps and metal scrubbers
Dry fully in open air
Stack with cloth or tissue between pots to prevent chipping
Always use low to medium heat when cooking
Use a heat diffuser to prevent cracking
Avoid thermal shock — never place a hot pot on a cold surface
